Founded in 1980, People for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to ending animal suffering. We were chosen by the State of New Jersey to participate in a pilot program to reduce animal overpopulation, and in 1985, opened the first Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of its kind in this State.
People for Animals is now completely independent operating two clinic locations on public donations, grants and bequests. Over 20,000 spay and neuter surgeries are performed in our clinics yearly, thus preventing the birth of thousands of unwanted dogs and cats. In addition, we support and advocate for humane population control of feral and free roaming cats.
The other service that we provide is a Pet Rescue and Adoption Program. This Program, staffed by volunteers, provides medical care, food and shelter to senior and medically challenged dogs until permanent, loving homes can be found. Adoption Days are held every weekend at a variety of locations.
