Description
Founded in 1894, Pen and Brush is one of the oldest organizations supporting and promoting the work of women in the visual, literary and performing arts. It has an international membership, and offers opportunities for women members and nonmembers, alike, to exhibit visual art work, workshop and have staged readings of plays, readings for poetry and prose, and provides space for recitals and performances. Pen and Brush's building also provides artist studio space for women at below market rental rates. Pen and Brush offers an annual scholarship to a young woman enrolled in a credentialed educational institution. Workshops and contests are also held to offer women writers instruction and an opportunity to have work published by the organization.
