The Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium Foundation is dedicated to raising funds and providing assistance to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium and its member institutions.
The PBTC Foundation was formed in collaboration with families, friends and physicians dedicated to raising funds and providing assistance directly to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium in support of its mission – to assist it to evaluate new treatments in curing childhood brain tumors.
Brain tumors remain the leading cause of cancer death in children. Drastic cuts in federal biomedical research funding directly threatens treatment progress for children with brain tumors.
PBTC’s funding from the National Cancer Institute only partially covers the expenses of operating this essential network. Funds are critically needed to study the biology and images (scans) of brain tumor tissue in order to understand how and why tumors grow and the therapies which will inhibit the growth.
