About Peacemakers
The Third International Women’s Peace Conference, to be held in Dallas, Texas, USA, is sponsored by Peacemakers Incorporated, a Texas non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization founded and incorporated in March, 1987 to sponsor international women’s conferences on peace. The first such conference was held in August 1988 on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Over 2,000 delegates from 57 countries attended the conference. Peacemakers’ Second International Women’s Peace Conference, which was held in September 1999 with the theme "Healing as a Prelude to Peace." The Third International Women’s Peace Conference, scheduled for July 10-15, 2007, will focus on the "Essentials of Peace." Between conferences, Peacemakers Incorporated sponsors and/or supports a variety of peacemaking efforts, both locally and globally.
