Patchwork Central is an inner-city ministry that works with low- income families and neighborhood schools in Evansville, Indiana. We provide a food pantry and after school programs for middle school up to high school. After school activities include art, tutoring, bike club, and S.T.U.F.F.; a substance abuse prevention program. Our programs allow the children to learn important life skills, discover new talents, strengthen their learning abilities, and equip them with the confidence to speak out on important issues and allow them a voice in our community. Through community service projects our kids learn to be aware of community needs, by teaching their peers about the dangers of substance abuse the high school participants are effective role models. Overall, Patchwork Central is working to better the community we live in. The children we work with will be future leaders in our communities; it is our goal to provide them with the resources to become strong, caring and, effective leaders.
