Passavant Area Hospital is the healthcare center for a rural five-county area – Cass, Morgan, Scott and portions of Greene and Macoupin counties in west central Illinois. As a non-profit hospital, Passavant’s rich history of caring began 135 years ago when the Rev. William Passavant founded the hospital that now bears his name. Passavant’s mission is to provide excellent care with compassion and commitment. In 2009, Passavant was designated a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. A new, 25,000 sq. ft. Emergency Department expansion will open this summer. Our logo “Friends Caring for Friends” epitomizes one of Passavant’s strengths – compassionate care.
