Description
Galactosemia Foundation (formerly Parents of Galactosemic Children, Inc.) is a 510 (3) (c), non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families of those affected by galactosemia. GF is run by volunteers and depend on donations to support their activities and contribute to research. Those with galactosemia are missing an enzyme in their body that allows them to metabolize lactose and/or galactose. Galactosemic patients must follow a strict diet for life to avoid many long term complications.
