Description

Ladies Armed With Knowledge (L.A.W.K.) is a mentoring program formed under the non-profit organization, Palmetto Youth Connection, to combat these statistics. L.A.W.K. focuses on providing young ladies ages 12- and up with positive alternatives to these at-risk behaviors, while at the same time promoting increased educational attainment, leadership development, character education and community involvement. L.A.W.K. recognizes the value in all girls and young women by believing that each deserves an opportunity to achieve her potential and live a life which is defined by personal responsibility, achievement and community involvement.

The weekly L.A.W.K. meetings serve as an escape for those young people facing problematic homes and communities.
