Description

Palmetto Place is an emergency shelter home for abused, abandoned, neglected, and dependent children. It is a safe, secure, and temporary placement for up to 16 children at any one time whose ages range from birth to 18 years. Referrals are made by local law enforcement and social services agencies and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The home is open 24 hours a day every day of the year to provide stability for children in protective custody until the local Department of Social Services can make more permanent arrangements for their safety and well-being. Services provided by a caring, nurturing staff include food, clothing, shelter, basic health and hygiene needs, counseling, and adult supervision around the clock.
