Description
Our mission is to improve the quality of life in our community by promoting and achieving literacy.
As the major entity in Palm Beach County with the sole focus of promoting literacy, the Coalition continuously assesses the needs of residents of the county who have low literacy skills and develops effective strategies to address these needs. The services provided by the Coalition are targeted toward the most educationally and economically disadvantaged members of our community.
The Coalition seeks to ensure that every child and every adult is able to read well and read often. To achieve this goal, we:
Act as an information, networking and referral center
Develop highly visible literacy programs
Serve as a leading advocate for literacy
Serve as a catalyst for innovative strategies and programs
Coordinate existing service providers Lead and unify the community in literacy efforts
