Description
The mission of the PADRE Foundation is: To provide education and support groups and activities for children with diabetes, as well as for their parents and siblings; To conduct community education on diabetes and disease management; And to sponsor research aimed toward better detection, prevention and management of diabetes and, ultimately, toward a cure. Though located at CHOC, we are an independent, 501 (C) 3, nonprofit organization. Each year PADRE provides over 100 education and support groups to 2500 children with diabetes, and their parents and siblings. We are the only agency in Orange County offering patient education and support groups on diabetes management for children, teens and their families and provide services for low-income families in both English and Spanish.
