Description
Outreach to Pets in Need (OPIN), Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, run and supported totally by volunteers, was formed in 2007 to benefit the animals of Stamford Animal Care and Control and the Stamford (CT) community. It provides a way for concerned citizens to make tax-deductible donations toward the care of the city's homeless pets, and an enhanced opportunity to obtain grants and other funding to support the no-kill shelter, which has the highest adoption rate in Connecticut. OPIN has grown remarkably since the beginning, as manifested by the scope of its revised mission: to reduce the population of homeless pets through training, education, medical and adoption programs.
