Description
Out of the Pits, a non-profit organization founded in 1996, is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of those Pit Bulls that have been abandoned and abused.
Although Out of the Pits defines itself as a rescue organization (we have successfully placed hundreds of dogs), our main focus is on public education. By promoting positive media coverage and pioneering school workshops for example, which teach children humane animal care and treatment plus the importance of spaying and neutering to save lives (using OOTP's Certified Pit Bull Therapy Dogs as a model), the organization aims to restore this noble breed to its former position of esteem in the hearts and minds of people everywhere.
