Description

Our Mothers Home provides a unique residential foster home with a positive atmosphere for pregnant and/or mothering adolescent children who wish to maintain custody and raise their own child. We enable deserving young mothers to remain together with their baby, while learning “functional family” values, foreign to them as children of long-term foster care. In our home, mothers complete their high school education and procure a secondary education and/or vocational career. Independent living skills are taught which decreases homelessness of young adults transitioning out of foster care. We prevent child abuse, neglect, and endangerment of children through academic education and providing therapeutic counseling to our resident mothers. Our Mothers Home utilizes "positive parenting" skills with the girls and their children, thus leading by example, promoting the “Golden Rule”, and extinguishing the familial cycle of domestic violence and foster care one tender spirit at a time.
