Description
The Orinda Arts Council has been stimulating, supporting, and advocating for the visual and performing arts in the schools and community since 1950. Key contributions by the OAC to the schools include organizing and sponsoring the High School Visual Arts Competition and Orinda Idol for Lamorinda students, providing 1st & 2nd Grade Art Books and 3rd Grade Sketchbooks for all Orinda elementary school students, sponsoring the OUSD Art Ambassadors Exhibit and Reception, and funding the Orinda Intermediate School Bulldog Theater Company, well as elementary and Miramonte High School musicals. In the community, the OAC manages the Orinda Library Art Gallery, sits on the Art in Public Places Committee, and partners with local arts organizations.
