Orange County Amateur Radio Emergency Service


We are a group of FCC licensed Amateur Radio Operators that provide emergency and public service radio communications in Orange County, New York. We are dedicated to serving as the radio communications backbone during any disaster or disruption of normal communications channels. The organization also serves as the National Weather Service Skywarn severe weather spotter network for the Orange County, NY area. We provide this service to local, state and federal governments, charities, and other public service groups needing assistance at no cost. Training activities include emergency communication drills and related public service events in Orange County as well as inter-county ARES training sessions.
