Description
Operation Asha is a nonprofit, which is bringing medical facilities to the doorsteps of slum dwellers in Delhi, which covers an area of 573 sq. miles and has a population of 16 million people. There are 1080 slums in the state. Bigger slums may extend 5 miles from end to end. Over 4 million people live in these slums. The focus of Operation Asha is on tuberculosis (TB), which has attained epidemic proportions in India. The disease causes 400,000 deaths annually.
