The Omaha Community Playhouse Mission Statement: "Professionals and volunteers partnering to provide outstanding theatre and educational opportunities for the community."
The Playhouse is the largest community theatre in the United States in terms of facility size, subscription membership base, season size, and volunteers. The Playhouse showcases a full season of comedies, dramas, mysteries, and musicals, presented on two stages. The 600-seat Mainstage Auditorium features six shows, while the flexible, 220-seat Howard Drew Theatre has four seasonal productions. The Omaha Community Playhouse also produces the holiday classic A Christmas Carol as well as special productions. The Playhouse fills a void in the performing arts community of Omaha as it provides a creative outlet for children and adults as well professionally directed, quality entertainment for the audience.
