Description

A public-private partnership formed in 1993, OTMC provides primary & preventive care to Greater Williamsburg's uninsured & Medicare/Medicaid residents. A Rural Health Center, operating as a family practice, OTMC has Medical & Dental Directors, Nurse Practitioners, & volunteer providers. Services provided through about 1,100 visits monthly are physical exams, screening for health /developmental problems, immunizations, dental care, GYN care, education & family support, information about, referral to community resources & medical specialists, & case management. A “Family Health Care Van” serves those who have transportation problems and can provide most exams or treatments provided in OTMC exam suites. Grants help OTMC to offer: 1) Help area residents obtain medications through pharmaceutical companies’ indigent programs 2) Substance abuse counseling 3) Chronic disease care with education & case management provided both through individual & group visits 4) A pre-natal care clinic.
