"Being put out to pasture is a positive thing in Georgetown, Kentucky, where retired racehorses live happily ever after", so states an article entitled Hoofbeats With Heart in the February 2007 issue of Southern Living Magazine.
Old Friends is the only retirement horse farm that accepts stallions.
They also offer horse "adoptions", where for $100, you can buy a share of one of their horses. You'll get a certificate and a color photo and you can visit the horse whenever you like.
Admission is free, donations are accepted.
