Description

The Old First Ward Community Association runs the Old First Ward Community Center in Buffalo, NY, right by the Buffalo River and in the shadow of the grain elevators. We run nutrition programs for senior and kids, provide senior transportation, wellness and recreation. We run fun afterschool programs for kids, including tutoring, sports and scinece activities.
We also provide housing and community renewal activities throughout the Buffalo River neighborhoods, including housing rehab for low income homeowners, first time homebuyer assistance and community planning. We operate the Buffalo River Apartments, a 16 unit senior building, and have developed several community parks.
