Description

OPDH is a faith and community-based nonprofit organization. Our mission is to promote the development of individuals, families and communities to become self-sufficient. OPDH serves more than 60 communities in the north-central area of Puerto Rico. We provide psycho-educational services and support to families and communities, emergency aid in crisis situations, and assistance and alternatives to enable families to develop their economic independence. Our programs are: Parenting with Love - to develop and improve parenting skills and protect kids from sexual assault. Women –to counsel and help break the cycle of domestic violence. Improve your self-esteem - to improve self-esteem of adolescents and youth. Community Development - to self-manage the communities, strengthen social responsibility, and develop community-based micro-enterprises. Direct Services – to help in emergencies, coordination of services for food, shelter housing, clothing, basic necessities, furniture and so on.
