Nyaya Health works in partnership with community-based organizations on charitable projects designed to promote equity in health through improving health outcomes amongst poor and socially marginalized communities in South Asia. We provide technical and financial assistance, secure funding and medical supplies, and administer partner projects in resource poor communities.
Our first project involved providing antiretroviral therapy to HIV-infected injection drug users in Kathmandu, Nepal. Building off of this successful experience, we are developing a public health and primary care intervention in the far western Nepal districts of Achham and Doti. These districts have been particularly hard-hit by the HIV and tuberculosis epidemics, as well as by chronic malnutrition and maternal mortality. Our intervention will address these issues through a comprehensive approach that works in conjunction with local community leaders and the Nepal Ministry of Health.
