Description
NY de Volunteer was founded in May 2002 and received 501(c)(3) IRS Status in October 2003.
Our mission is to enhance international mutual understanding and to improve the greater New York metropolitan community through mobilization and volunteering efforts of the local Japanese population and its extended network.
Our programs:
1. "Explore Japanese Culture" After School Program
As an official after school program of the New York City Department of
Parks and Recreation, we provide this program for children ages 6 -13
years old, at 35 recreation centers throughout the five boroughs of
New York City. The goal of this program is to provide young children
in New York City with opportunities to cultivate a sense of "Global
Citizenship" by introducing Japanese culture through fun and creative
activities.
