Northwest Michigan Council of Governments, founded in 1973, is a regional organization serving units of government, businesses, non-profits, community organizations, and individuals.

Our mission is to build stronger communities and improve quality of life in Northwest Michigan.

Our hallmarks are public-private partnership, innovation, collaboration and sustainability.

We provide a variety of programs and services within the region, with particular emphasis on partnerships, economy of scale, and leveraging resources to address common concerns among multiple organizations or across sectors.
