Description
Northern Jaguar Project operates and manages a fully protected wildlife reserve in Northern Sonora Mexico, only 120 miles south of the Arizona Mexico Border. The reserve is home to the planet's northern most breeding population of critically endangered jaguars, as well as ocelots, mountain lions, bobcats, neotropical river otters, fox, javelina, Coues Whitetail Deer and many rare amphibians and reptiles. The reserve is also the northern most nesting site for military macaws and the southern most nesting site for bald eagles. Many species of neotropical migrant birds visit the lush, thornscrub and tropical deciduous forest on the reserve. We are now in the process of expanding the reserve from 10,000 to 45,000 acres, encompassing 70 square miles of prime wildlife habitat.
