Description
The North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy (NOHLC), established in 1972, is the oldest land conservancy in Michigan. NOHLC a private, non-profit, member supported, citizen run organization with 30 years’ experience in preserving open space in northwest Oakland County, Michigan. NOHLC helps to maintain the quality of life by protecting the rural character and quality of life to be found there. We do this by conserving the woods, fields, streams and other natural resources in these headwater areas. NOHLC works with local township governments to promote responsible planning. Not anti-development, the Conservancy works to ensure the quality of life benefits from open-space planning.
