Founded in 1991, the Women's Center provides information and support for students at NC State University. The office serves as a referral center for campus and community resources for and about women and gender equity issues and offers an array of programs and services throughout the school year. Emphasis is placed on empowering women as leaders and agents of change on campus with particular concern for issues of sexual violence, race, ethnicity, class, national origin, physical challenge, disability and sexual orientation.
The Women’s Center manages a Rape and Sexual Assault Response Line. This 24-hour hotline serves as a resource for NC State students. The Advocates offer confidentiality, crisis information support, and provide resources and referrals for survivors of rape and sexual assault. The Women’s Center also provides these services based on staff availability during normal business hours as well as a safe space to hang out between classes.
