The N.C. Children’s Hospital prides itself on its commitment to provide the highest quality care to its patients from all 100 counties in North Carolina, and we see over 40,000 children a year come through our doors.
Our charge at UNC is to provide the highest level of care possible, cutting edge research and premiere educational programs. We take our mandate very seriously. The challenge is to find a way that allows us to be innovative and develop programs beyond what's afforded from patients' limited insurance and uncompensated care to children statewide. Simply stated, much of the additional personnel and equipment we need to develop new and innovative programs are not available from the financial resources we have. Instead, we have to seek funds from donors, grants, and other efforts, which is where you come in and why your contributions count.
