North Carolina Arboretum

An affiliate of the North Carolina University System, our mission is to cultivate connections between people and plants. Surrounded by the Southern Appalachian Mountains and adjacent to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, The North Carolina Arboretum is nestled in one of the most beautiful natural settings in America. Within its 434 acres, the Arboretum offers 65 acres of cultivated gardens, 10 miles of forested hiking and biking trails, a state-of-the-art production greenhouse, and the finest bonsai collection in the Southeastern United States, housed in the Bonsai Exhibition Garden. Ongoing exhibits of science, art and culture are featured in the Baker Exhibit Center which also serves at the visitor information center.
