Description
NICA [Nicaragua Initiative for Community Advancement] is a non-profit charity that helps rural communities in Nicaragua. The mission of NICA is to cause lasting positive change for the communities of Nicaragua that have not had sufficient access to basic services and good quality of life to date. NICA helps in five basic areas: education, healthcare, infrastructure, community pride, and development of commerce.
The Nicaraguan government cannot afford to provide adequate education, healthcare, or infrastructure to the over 5 million people who live there. NICA helps fill the gap in the rural areas where the need is greatest.
