Description

Over the course of thirty-one years, NESF has steadily grown from a small organization providing information on community resources, into an agency that makes readily available services that address clients’ most critical needs. NESF has consistently adapted its service model to changing client needs, currently providing emergency rental/mortgage and utilities assistance; short-term shelter, food vouchers and referrals for the homeless; free or low cost medical care to the homeless and working poor; specialized services for senior citizens; housing, medical and other supportive services for People Living With HIV/AIDS; long-term intensive case management for individuals transitioning from Work First New Jersey or recently released from incarceration and our Family Success Center for families residing in the City of Newark’s Central and West Wards. The agency also manages the State’s only 24-hour hotline, providing shelter placements and food vouchers 365 days a year.
