Description
The New York Center for Children was established in 1995 to evaluate, treat and prevent child abuse. NYCC provides quality assessment and treatment services in a child-friendly environment, free of charge, to victims of child abuse. We serve children who have suffered from sexual, physical and emotional abuse and neglect. Each child receives a thorough physical examination from a medical expert and sensitive interviews and crisis counseling from specially trained social workers.
In addition, NYCC also offers professional training programs on diagnosis and treatment of child abuse and abuse awareness and prevention programs for the general public. The New York Center for Children is the only independent, privately-funded Center for abused children in New York City, relying on the support of individuals, foundations and corporations.
