Description
The New West Symphony is the resident orchestra of the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, the Countrywide Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and the Wadsworth Theatre in Brentwood. Now established as one of the pre-eminent orchestras in Southern California, the New West Symphony continues to thrill its audiences with its virtuosity and richness of sound.
The experience of a live performance, from the powerful sound of the music to the foreign shapes of the instruments, is magical for third, fourth and fifth graders. Over 10,000 elementary-age students enjoy live symphonic music each year through the New West Symphony's Symphonic Adventures Student Concerts.
The Music Van is a nationally acclaimed program made possible by the New West Symphony where thousands of dollars worth of orchestral instruments are brought to individual third grade classrooms for “hands-on” experience.
