Founded at the beginning of 2007, we are a nonprofit organization, a group of talented, Atlanta-based singers and musicians who are dedicated to looking forward. While we love and value the music of the past, we also see the importance of enthusiastically moving into the future. We have come together to do just that. We hope to enhance and enlighten the general public's concept of opera, what it is and what it can be.
We are NEW OPERA, opera for the 21st century and beyond, a fresh new approach to a 400-year-old artistic medium with the goal of reaching the widest possible audience and ensuring the continuing legacy of an art form that we love and cherish. Our works are original music and text, composed specifically to meet our goals and please audiences by award-winning Russian-American composer, Misha V. Stefanuk. Our subjects are thoroughly researched and our stories carefully planned to communicate the messages that we find enriching and important, as well as entertaining!
