Description
The Gateway provides residential substance abuse recovery (transitional housing) and supportive services for homeless men in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. The Gateway Program holds them accountable as they learn to make better choices and change their lives. Started in 1988, The Gateway moved in its first resident in 1992 and has served over 675 men in its 17 years of existence. With space for 24 men, The Gateway's 12-step-based program provides substance abuse counseling, choice theory/reality therapy-based cnslg, employment cnslg, resume prep, online job search, credit repair, budgeting, anger management training, relapse prevention, a clothing closet, food, recreation, library, meditation rooms, referral for medical care, mental health assessment and care.
