Founded in 1983, New Hope Ministries is a community-based and faith-based, local, human service agency, New Hope providing for “basic human needs” assistance, including food from our food pantry; rent/mortgage assistance to prevent homelessness; and assistance with utilities, transportation and medical needs. But we also provide counseling, referral services and accountability checks to encourage clients to greater levels of financial stability and self-sufficiency. Through ‘one on one’ counseling and referral, New Hope provides not just food or help with the utility bills, but true HOPE. In an effort to break the generational poverty cycle, New Hope also works with the children of many of these same families. Whether these kids live in Dover, in Mechanicsburg or Dillsburg, the need is the same – healthy role models, help to achieve in school, socially positive activities and HOPE!
