Description
The New Hampshire Coastal Protection Partnership (NH Coast) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization that is dedicated to combining sound science with education, collaboration and advocacy to protect the natural resources of the Granite State's coastal watershed and effect long-term visible change.
Currently, NH Coast is working to promote backyard solutions to water pollution in the Great Bay Estuary by installing demonstration rain gardens in local communities. A rain garden is a planted landscaping feature that acts as an all natural stormwater treatment system. We installed our first demonstration rain garden in the town of New Castle in 2010. Our next demonstration rain garden will be located in the town of Barrington, nearby the Town Hall, Public Library, and Elementary School. Each project is accompanied by interpretive signage describing the environmental benefits of rain gardens and demonstrating how they work!
