Description

Neighborhood Housing Services of Richmond, Inc. (NHSR) is a private, nonprofit community development corporation that was founded in 1981. Its existence grew from local community concern of increasing urban blight, decreasing quality and quantity of affordable housing, and shrinking opportunities for economic self-sufficiency. As a Community Development Financial Institution and a Neighborworks® HomeOwnership Center, NHSR’s mission is “to promote successful homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods.

NHSR understands the significance of becoming a homeowner, and is committed to creating opportunities for homeownership, particularly for low-income families and individuals. NHSR offers a comprehensive range of user-friendly homebuyer services, and serves as a “one-stop-shop” for fulfilling the needs of all income households with services that include: homebuyer education, homebuyer lending capital, homeowner insurance education and neighborhood outreach.
