Description
Neighborhood House is a community center for the Portland neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky. We were established in 1896 as a KY’s first settlement house. Our mission is to provide opportunities for individuals to enhance the quality of their lives. Our vision is to break the cycle of poverty for our children and families through educational opportunities.
As a community center, we are a hub of activity for our neighborhood. Our core programs include:
•Youth Development Program for school age youth and Kids Café, serving meals to children of all ages
• Four Seasons Program for senior adults
•Child Development Center
•Family Services with partnering agencies that includes emergency food services, Portland Now Prevention Partnership (substance abuse prevention) and parent support groups.
