The Nebraska Food Bank Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization that collects wholesome food products and distributes them to charities in Nebraska and western Iowa. Programs include Kids Cafe, Backpack, and Senior Outreach, and over 360 agencies are served by The Food Bank.
The Food Bank began in March 1981 as a coalition of businesses, labor organizations, churches and social service agencies. In September 1999, it moved to its present facility, which consists of over 40,000 square feet of administration and warehouse space. The Food Bank employs a small full-time office and warehouse staff, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent many areas of the community. Learn more at www.omahafoodbank.org.
