The National Students of AMF Support Network is a national, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support college students griving the illness or death of a loved one.
Research shows that 35-48% of college students have lost a family member or close friend within the last two years. And countless others experience the illness of family or friends while in college.
We accomplish our mission by supporting the creation of Students of AMF chapters on college campuses. These chapters provide an environment where bereaved college students can relate to peers facing similar situations. Chapter members and others in their campus community also engage in service projects to volunteer and raise awareness and funds for causes that have impacted their lives. This “pay it forward” approach is not only empowering for the bereaved, but also has a positive impact on the community at large.
