Description
Founded in 1915 as an orphanage in the District of Columbia, the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) is now an award-winning, private nonprofit family and child welfare agency serving low-income, disadvantaged, abused, neglected and/or abandoned children, youth, and families through a range of residential, community-based, and early intervention programs.
Our mission, “to create total, healthy living environments for vulnerable children, youth and families, and the quality of life which empowers their ability to thrive and demonstrate responsibility”, serves more than 3,000 children, youth, and families in the Metropolitan Baltimore Washington Region each year.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive programs that work to alleviate the needs of high-risk children and families, thus preventing damaging outcomes such as child abuse and neglect, school failure, drug abuse, cyclical poverty, welfare dependence, homelessness, crime, and domestic violence.
