Description
The NJO's mission is "to preserve, advance and promote big band jazz appreciation to our children and to our communities through live performance, workshops and quality recordings." The NJO performs four major concerts a year at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music, where it is an artist-in-residence, as well as weekly performances and numerous other bookings throughout the year. It also puts on original "Jazz History" performance, with curriculum, for Metro Nashville public schools.
