Description
NAMI South Dakota is a public non-profit organization, 501 c 3, founded in 1987 and managed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director. There are nine affiliate support groups, a statewide Consumer Council ( many members of which are actively involved in the In Our Own Voice anti-stigma education program).
NAMI-SD offers practical support, education, and understanding to people who live and cope with neurobiologically based brain diseases. NAMI South Dakota is the National Outreach Partner with the National Institute of Mental Health with the duty to disseminate science-based information to persons across South Dakota. The primary means used for this purpose is through the newsletter.
