NAMI Greater Orlando is a non-profit, grassroots, family, friends and consumer support and advocacy organization. NAMIGO strives to eradicate mental illness and to improve the quality of life of those whose lives are affected by severe and chronic brain disorders. This need in our community is vast and great with it estimated that 1 in 4 families in America are affected by mental illness. With limited resources for individuals diagnosed with a mental illness, and their families, NAMIGO provides resources within the community where the individuals can access treatment, educational programs in which the classes teach the participants about mental illness and a resource room where individuals can obtain information regarding mental illness, diagnosis and medications. NAMIGO also provides several support groups within the community for families, friends and those who are diagnosed with the mental illness.
