Description
"... …”TO DISSEMINATE THE MUSICAL WORKS THAT FLOW FROM THE PENS OF GREAT ARTISTS.” Ranieri del Vivo
The mission of Musica Toscana Incorporated (MTI) is to restore a repertory of previously unknown and unpublished music, written or premiered in Tuscany during the period from 1590 to 1850, worthy and suitable for modern performance and enjoyment.
In 1984 the largest known 18th-century private music library, belonging to the Ricasoli family and containing a substantial quantity of unique manuscripts and prints of music by Tuscan composers, appeared upon the international market. This collection and its acquisition by The Dwight Anderson Music Library, University of Louisville, is the basis for the creation of our organization; the initiation of our series, Monuments of Tuscan Music; and our lectures and concerts.
Musica Toscana Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) educational and musicological corporation. We accomplish our from funds raised by members and private donors.
