Description
The mission of Music In Communities & Education is to promote American Roots Music in the Central Illinois region. American Roots Music being defined as music originated and developed within the American culture, including, but not limited to blues, jazz, country, gospel, soul, Native American as well as rock and roll.
Organization objectives are: to promote public education and appreciation of American Roots Music and its historical significance and as a cultural art form, to publicize the significant contributions of American Roots Music and its many forms as well as its songwriters and musicians, to promote and participate in local events featuring forms of American Roots Music.
Furthermore when feasible and possible the Organization shall collaborate with other concerned entities, clubs or organizations to promote the mission and objectives as contained in the preceding paragraphs
