Description
Founded more than 100 years ago, the Museums of Old York is the steward of nine historic properties that showcase an unrivaled spectrum of local architecture (including a National Historic Landmark) and outstanding furniture, decorative and folk art collections. A vibrant schedule of exhibitions, lectures, workshops and hands-on education programs along with an archival library and contemporary art gallery round out the museum’s offerings. In 2005, the museum received public recognition from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Designated a We the People project, our heritage education program is recognized as a model program that advances the study, teaching and understanding of American history and culture. For more information, please call (207) 363-4974 or visit the museum’s website at www.oldyork.org.
