Maanza a Leza is a project operating under the nonprofit umbrella of Mullins United Methodist Church. Maanza a Leza gives support to Sichibeya, a remote village in Zambia with over 300 orphaned children. Funds raised are used to build and furnish school classrooms and teacher housing, provide a college scholarship at Africa University, furnish seed and fertilizer for the planting season, and other humanitarian aid, with the goal of developing the village and improve their quality of life and ability to feed and educate themselves.
Donations to Maanza a Leza are made out to Mullins UMC and designated for the Maanza a Leza project fund. Volunteers started the project in April 2004, and to date have given over $27,000 in aid to the village.
